Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

ModulSea is a macOS app for professional charter management. Privacy is essential: the app is built to work offline and on device. We do not collect, store, or transmit personal data to our servers.

2. Data we collect

None. ModulSea does not collect personal data, identifiers, usage logs, or analytics on our behalf.

• No account creation, no user profile.
• No analytics, no advertising, no trackers.
• No data transfer to third‑party servers.

3. On‑device processing

3.1. Local storage (Core Data)

Your data (charters, clients, boats, ports, itineraries) is stored locally on your Mac using Core Data. You retain full control.

3.2. Location

If you enable location services, positions are processed solely on device for the app’s features. We do not send or share them.

3.3. Network (TCP/NMEA)

If you configure a TCP (NMEA) connection to your onboard instruments, it is established directly between your Mac and your equipment. ModulSea does not relay or collect this data.

3.4. Exports (PNG, PDF, GPX, CSV)

Files are generated locally. If you share them externally (email, cloud, etc.), confidentiality depends on the destination service.

4. Sharing and third‑party services

• Sharing with third parties: none by default.
• Integrated third‑party services: no analytics, advertising, or profiling services.

Note: if iCloud/CloudKit sync is introduced in the future, it will be optional and subject to your explicit consent. This page will be updated accordingly.

5. Diagnostics and crash reports

If you opted in at the macOS level, Apple may send the developer anonymized crash reports through Apple’s own channels. This is not required by ModulSea and can be disabled in macOS settings.

6. Compliance (GDPR/Apple)

• Legal basis: the app processes your data on device to provide the features you request (performance of a contract under GDPR). No data is transmitted to our servers.
• User rights: you control your data stored on your device (view, modify, delete via the app’s interface).

7. Children

The app is not directed at children and does not collect personal data.

8. Changes to this policy

If the policy changes (e.g., optional sync is added), we will update this page and indicate the new effective date.
